Approaching 20 years of Wing Chun training, Sifu Jonathan Petree is the most tenured and senior Wing Chun student of Sifu Bill Graves in the state of Florida. In addition, Sifu Petree is a closed door (private lesson) student of Sifu Karl Godwin. He has also received hands-on instruction from both Sifu Ben Der, and Sifu Kenneth Chung of the Leung Sheung lineage. What's more, Sifu Petree has been officially recognized as an authentic representative of the Leung Sheung lineage by the Worldwide Leung Sheung Lineage Association. Sifu Leung Sheung was Ip Man's very first student in Hong Kong.

In 2002, Sifu Jonathan Petree founded Atlantic Warriors Wing Chun Gung Fu in Jacksonville, Florida. His mission is to teach Wing Chun as a science of self-preservation to help the community become a safer place. In addition, Jonathan prefers to take a "one student at-a-time" approach to training. Simply put, students learn, comprehend and advance much better when the student is receiving energy directly from his instructor. As such, even in public group classes, students receive individual attention from Sifu Petree.

Because of his tireless pursuit of excellence, and effective training methods, 7 students lives have been saved since 2010 from violent, random attacks. What's more, all seven students had less than 2 years of training with Atlantic Warriors at the time of them being attacked. As a result, Atlantic Warriors has been inducted into the Hall of Recognition, and been awarded the Community Enrichment Award by the GNPRBFI. Additionally, in 2010 Sifu Petree was voted Self-Defense Instructor of the Year for Women's Self-Defense. He has also been inducted into the Hall of Honors on three separate occasions.
